WOW, on behalf of all of the volunteers here at HFE, we can’t even begin to express our gratitude to our supporters over the last month.
Leif, one of the dogs in our rescue needed a life saving surgery on his spine that totaled over $8,000. While already strapped for funds with huge outstanding vet bills, we came to you for help. Around a time where everyone is low on funds because of Christmas, you all rose to the challenge, not only to cover Leifs surgery, but also the aftercare and physical therapy he will need.
This week we were also able to hold 2 fundraisers, at I Luv Cheese and Ireland’s Pub in which a few more thousand dollars was raised (A big thank you to both venues for having us!). We wish we could thank each one of you individually for your monetary donations, your donations to the raffles, coming out and eating/drinking at the fundraisers. It has been a rough go lately and the thought of having to close the doors after just over 14 years in rescue was heartbreaking to all of us. While we are not out of the woods yet financially, and will have to continue to fundraise, we could not let our gratitude towards our supporters go unnoticed. After all, without your support and the help of volunteers and fosters, it’s almost impossible to help these animals.
